TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully!
Before engaging with Standley Floors Ltd ("we," "our," "the company"). By accepting our estimate, placing an order, or paying an invoice, you ("the client," "you," "your") agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, you should not proceed with our services.
These terms apply to all purchases made and services provided by Standley Floors Ltd and supersede any previous agreements. Any changes to these terms will be posted here, and it is your responsibility to review them periodically. These terms are in addition to any statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.
1. Estimates, Acceptance, Orders, and Invoices
-
Estimates: We provide formal estimates via email for products, materials, and services. Estimates are subject to change if any unforeseen work or materials are required. We will inform you of any changes and provide a revised estimate for acceptance before proceeding.
-
Acceptance: By accepting our estimate, you agree to proceed with the services outlined. Acceptance of an estimate automatically converts it to an invoice, and payment is required within 14 days. Cancellations or changes after acceptance incur a 10% cancellation fee.
-
Payment Terms: We may offer a 3-stage payment plan: 50% deposit, 25% upon delivery, and 25% upon completion. We require cleared funds before placing orders or holding dates, unless otherwise agreed.
-
Invoices: Payments are due within 14 days of acceptance. Late payments may incur interest as per the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1999 and compensation for credit control costs. Non-payment after 30 working days may lead to debt collection or legal action.
2. Contract
The agreed estimate forms a contract for the specified work and price. Verbal agreements are not part of the contract unless included in writing. Standley Floors will only communicate directly with the client unless written permission is given to involve others.
3. Cancellations, Orders & Fitting Dates
-
Cancellation: Cancellations must be made at least one week before the scheduled date. A £250 admin fee will apply, along with any labor and material costs already incurred. Products ordered may incur a 30% restocking fee if returned.
-
Fitting Dates: If the fitting date is changed within seven days, a £225 per person per day charge will apply. Any date changes or cancellations should be communicated promptly to avoid additional fees.
-
Returns: Stock items may be returned within 14 days in original condition. Bespoke products are non-returnable once manufactured. Returns must be authorized and are subject to a 30% restocking fee.
4. Delivery & Installation Preparation
-
Delivery: Due to insurance regulations, delivery drivers cannot enter private homes or commercial properties. Our drivers will assist with bringing flooring inside where possible. Standley Floors is not responsible for damage to property during delivery.
-
Preparation: The installation area must be cleared of furniture, electrical items, and other belongings. If the area is not cleared, installation may be canceled with a £225 per person per day cancellation fee. Our fitters are not responsible for damage when removing skirting boards, architraves, or other obstacles.
5. Customer’s Property and Furniture
The client is responsible for:
-
Removing valuable, fragile, or breakable items.
-
Moving electrical goods and wall hangings.
-
Covering items that need protection.
Assistance with moving furniture may incur additional charges.
6. Subfloor Preparation and Installation
We will assess and prepare the subfloor for installation. If additional work is required (e.g., securing floorboards or laying plywood), it is the client's responsibility to ensure there are no plumbing or electrical systems beneath the floorboards.
7. Post-Installation
-
Installation Guarantee: Standley Floors guarantees our services for 24 months from completion. We will address any defects due to no fault of the client within this period.
-
Product Warranty: Our flooring comes with a minimum 24-month warranty. Misuse or moisture damage may void the warranty.
-
Completion & Sign-Off: The client must be available for a consultation and sign-off at the end of the project. If no one is available, the project will be considered complete, and full payment is due.
By proceeding with any order or service from Standley Floors Ltd, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined above. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us for clarification before proceeding.
